Who We Are
GHUMATI GORI established in the year 2010 in Vadodara, Gujarat. This institute is backed by three devoted artistes having wide and rich experience in Classical and Folk dances. The undersigned has widely travelled around the globe under Exchange Programs in Folk Dance and Classical Dance to create a platform for aspiring talents round the world.
GHUMATI GORI works to preserve and present folk dance traditions of Gujarat in particular. You are aware that India is a large country with a very rich culture and tradition and varies from State to State. Many of these traditions are embodied by unique folk dances where joy is freely expressed with rhythm and spontaneity.
Our main focus is to create a dynamic and innovative choreography while instilling and preserving the passion and respect for the performing artistes.
Our Vision is not only a contemporary symbiosis affirming the role of creativity in culture, but also preserving and saving our culture researching into our origins and reaching out to the unsaid or unthought-of, with a language that is universal.
Our Objective –‘Save Our Culture.’
Ghumati Gori dance academy has its objective to study various performing folk dance forms of Gujarat and India. Under this we would like our students to travel far and wide to remote areas of Gujarat and mingle with various tribes to have a feel of their lives and learn about their forms which bring in an awareness about our rich culture and heritage.
Ghumati Gori’s repertory is on the panel of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Apart from performing the original folk dances of Gujarat, we undertake productions in which basic media has been folk dances and the movements of the folk dances.
